How many earthquakes do you think happened in April across the world?
Chances are it’s more than you think.
Small ones can happen more than once an hour and moderate-to-large earthquakes are less common, however, perhaps 1 or 2 per month.
To illustrate the frequency of ‘quakes, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre has made this animation showing all earthquakes between January and April.
Head’s up, in this video the world is focused on the Pacific Ocean so America is in the east, and Asia is the west.
