Did you hear about the first robot wedding in Japan?
Yes. You read that title right. Tokyo was the witness of a romantic “kiss” that sealed the deal between two robots that will spend the rest of their lives together.
I don’t know if I should feel moved by this or not although I did get a tingling feeling when I saw the movie “WALL-E.”
Nearly 100 people attended this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but not without paying $81 in advance. The attendees enjoyed a fancy party with robot dance performances, a buffet, and a white tower cake with pink petals.
But who were the lucky ones?
Traditionally dressed, the red and silver groom named Froi waited patiently while Yukirin walked the aisle with her astonishing wedding dress.
Even the marriage officiant was a robot. Pepper, a robot released by SoftBank who is able to interpret emotions, had the chance to make the deal official between these two love birds.
The “kiss” turned was a bit awkward when Froi stretched a silver disk out of his mouth in order to kiss Yukirin. I guess the manufacturers of Froi didn’t have time to think that through.
Maywa Denki, an electronic accessories company, manufactured Froi and was also the main organizer of the event.
I wonder if they have any plans for the honeymoon and future household.
