No, this isn’t as dirty as you might think. Dog yoga, with the rather obvious name of doga, is an increasingly popular hobby in the developed world. What it really includes is yoga for both the dog and its owner.

Yoga itself is a concept that has a basis in religion, philosophy and physical practice, while in the modern world today it is more focused on the physical practice aspect, to bring strength and reduce stress.

Simple doga involves stretching and massage, while the more advanced moves combine human and animal into a well-balanced and coordinated tower of man and dog.

The old record was accomplished in the American city of San Diego, in January 2015, with 265 participants. The new record, set by the residents of Hong Kong, totaled 270 participants, beating San Diego by merely 5 people and puppies. Not to be outdone, there is a new plan in Miami to bring the record back to the United States, you had better watch out, Hong Kong!

Whether the Americans manage to take back the record or not, this attempt has landed the doga practitioners in Hong Kong in the Guinness Book of World Records. Who will take the eventual gold, well, that’s a ruff call to make.
