Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s a blooming great balloon rolling towards you at speed.

This must have crossed the minds of a few people in Fuzhou, eastern China, on Wednesday as a huge moon balloon was knocked free from its restraints by an approaching typhoon.

The orb, which formed part of celebrations for the mid-autumn moon festival, rolled around the streets of Fuzhou covering cars and people. Luckily there have been no injuries.

Twitter, in its usual style, reacted with glee at the lunar landing.

Stay safe out there, kids. You never know when a massive balloon is going to wreak havoc in your town.
