Imagine walking around a new city when all of a sudden, you encounter a strangely shaped building. You look up and notice a huge serpent head right at the top of the tower with red shining eyes.
Seems like a scene out of a sci-fi movie, right?
Russian architect and billionaire banker, Vasily Klyukin, wants to create exactly that. He has envisioned building a cobra-like building.
“In Japan telling someone that he is a snake means a compliment. In China snakes and dragons often mean the same,” Vasily explains.
The appropriately named ‘Asian Cobra Tower’ has been designed with a coiled tail on the base of the structure to resemble the serpent-like shape. Lights installed on the exterior will change colors to bring the skyscraper to life.
What gives this building an authoritative feel are its black and gold colors, combined with the diamond-shaped pattern on the back to reflect Ying and Yang.
Inside, the Asian Cobra Tower would contain offices in the middle and maybe a restaurant in the head.
Unfortunately for Vasily, China’s State Council has announced regulations upon “Bizarre architecture that is not economical, functional or environmentally friendly…” Because of that, Vasily headed to Japan.
However, the vision is not enough to bring this structure to life. Currently, there are no plans to start the development of the skyscraper soon or maybe ever.
How would you feel with a cobra skyscraper in your city?
